Cor Newyddion Da

Mae canu ffres a swynol Cor Newyddion Da wedi gwefreiddio cynulleidfaoedd di-ri, o neuaddau cefn gwlad i lwyfan yr Albert Hall ers 1994. Pobl ifanc bro Waldo ydyn nhw sydd yn cynnal ac ychwanegu at hen draddodiad gyda chyfaredd ac urddas hollol naturiol.

Good News ChoirO dan arweiniad ymddroddedig Marillyn Lewis ceir disgyblaeth, cywreinrwydd technegol ac ansawdd lleisiol sy’n rhoi i ni gor sy’n canu gydag angerdd a gwefr anghyffredin. Ei gweledigaeth a’i brwdfrydedd sydd wedi plethu’r cor yn uned hapus.
Does dim syndod fod y profiad a geir o’u clywed yn canu yn ddim llai na gwefreiddiol. Mae’r cor wedi ymsefydlu’n ddiogel yn rhengoedd corau gorau ein gwald. Gallwn ymfalchio yn y cyfraniad mae Cor Newyddion Da wedi ei wneud ac mae’r casgliad amrywiol hwn yn hyrwyddo ymhellach yr enw da sydd eisioes i’r cor.

Mae sain Cor Newyddion Da yn un o ryfeddodau y Gymru gyfoes.

Ein nod fel cor yw i gyfleu Newyddion Da yn unol a’n logo sef “Y Golomen Heddwch”. Ers 28 mlynedd, rwyf wedi dysgu nifer dirifedi o ieuenctid i ganu ac i berfformio mewn amryw o gystadlaethau, megis unawdau, deuawdau ac ensemblau lleisiol. Rwf wedi ymroddi fy “amser hamdden” i Gor Iau Newyddion Da ers 1992. Rhwng 1994 a 2000, mae’r cor wedi ennill 27 o gystadlaethu yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd ac 8 o gystadlaethau yn y Genedlaethol. Rydym wedi canu mewn gwledydd tramor megis Iwerddon , Almaen, a’r Sbaen. Heb os nag oni bai, ni ellir fod wedi cyflawni hyn oll heb ymroddiad a brwdfrydedd y bobl ifanc ar fore Sadwrn mewn ymarfeirion; talent a dioddefgarwch fy nghyfeildd John de Groot a chymorth ddi-flino y rhieni. Fy nghariad mawr iddynt.

The Choir’s logo is the “Dove of Peace”, the messenger of Good news and we strive to continue doing so. Having taught countless youngsters, over a period of 28 years, to sing and perform competitively as individualists, duettists and vocal ensembles, my “leisure time” has – since 1992 – been devoted to the Good News Choir. Between 1994 and 2000 the choristers have won 27 Youth National Titles and 8 National Titles and have sung in Ireland, Germany, and Spain. I am adamant that the Choir would not have achieved all that it has, without the sheer dedication of the young people in attending their Saturday morning practices, the talent of my long-suffering accompanist John de Groot and for the excellent, unstinting support of the parents.
My love to them all – Marilyn.
